Our Service

We go beyond the surface, using rigorous design thinking to fully understand each clients brand in order to create better functioning, more impactful spaces for customers to connect. If you’re reading this, chances are you fit into one of the following profiles:

First Time Fit - Out

Our First Time Fit-Out service is aimed at anyone who needs help with the design and delivery of their first permanent site. This moment is an important milestone in any entrepreneur’s business journey, and a critical one to get right as you commit to and establish your brand’s visual and spatial identity for the first time.

We understand it can often feel like an unbridgeable chasm between where you are now, and the day doors open for trading, which is why we have developed a rigorous framework that we take every client through to help them realise their vision.

Ready to Roll - Out

Our Ready-to-Roll-Out service is for clients with their sights set on sites two and beyond.

We find that clients at this stage have a strong sense of their business engine, and having spent time trading now know their product and their customers inside out. Often there are gripes about the functionality of their current space they want to iron out.

We are able to leverage these insights in our design strategy for future sites. Brand consistency and control is critical at this stage and we are able to help you both tighten the bolts, and consider how you can adapt to different markets and customer segments in new locations.

Premium Pop - Up

Our Premium Pop-Up service is tailored for clients who need help with design and delivery of short-term brand activation projects. This ser- vice is for people who understand the value of investing in quality design to define and differentiate their brand, even for temporary events.

We’ve built this plan around our experience working with both in-house designers and third-party agencies on projects as varied as window displays, exhibitions, temporary restaurants, pop-up shops, trade show stands, and more.

Appear Here Additions

Appear Here have compiled a shortlist of trusted partners to work with their tenants to bring new spaces to life. We’re thrilled to be involved as a project partner and have already assisted in the development of several innovative store concepts as well as providing educational masterclasses on the topic of retail design.

“Tom and Chris partnered with Appear Here to bring our Space for Ideas competition winner's store to life.

They were great to work with – strategic in their thinking and great storytellers. They brought the Aerende store to life in a compelling way, which told the story behind the makers.”

Selected Projects

Three disruptive brands we helped create impactful spaces and memorable customer experiences, from concept to delivery.

Good & Proper Tea Bar

Good & Proper are a tea company with the mission of providing tea-drinkers the same quality experience that coffee-drinkers currently enjoy. We helped them move from an online business into their first two sites, developing a unique physical identity for the brand, and taking a user-centred design approach to carefully curate and choreograph the customer experience both in-store, and at home, through involvement with both the retail design and packaging.

Services: Graphic Design, Environment Design, Packaging

“As my single point of contact for the whole project, design through to build, Kennedy Woods mapped out the process in detail and have held our hands through it all the way. No stone unturned.”

Aerende Homewares Shop

Aerende is an ethical homewares brand selling a curated selection of beautifully-crafted products made by people facing social challenges, from refugees to people with learning difficulties. We helped the business launch its flagship store in Borough Market, providing design services, and consulting on brand strategy through a series of workshops. Insights generated during this phase led to the concept of the shop also as a platform for debate, and a programme of talks and events were curated around the theme of craft and ethical consumerism.

Services: Graphic Design, Environment Design, Brand Strategy, Storytelling

“Working with Kennedy Woods to create Aerende’s  flagship store was a hugely positive and educational experience. They spent time learning about my brand, came up with interesting ideas, executed them within budget (and on time) and ultimately created an aesthetic that beautifully captured the brief. I appreciated their honesty about feasible possibilities and their creative solutions that enabled us to really tell the stories of our suppliers. Numerous customers commented on the look of the shop and expressed how impressed they were that it had been created so quickly and with such a good connection to our brand values”

The Cheese Bar

Restaurant of the Week, Time Out London

The Cheese Bar serves up a hand-picked selection of the best British artisanal cheeses in inventive dishes to a blaring disco soundtrack. We were approached to help them transition from a fleet of converted ice-cream trucks into their first bricks-and-mortar site. Our approach to the interiors was to let the food take centre-stage, matching the owner’s philosophy of simple, high-quality ingredients. We designed the layouts, furniture and lighting to create a bar-like atmosphere, that challenges the traditional image of a cheese and wine bar, opening up this category to a broader demographic.
