Project Summary

90-100 De Beauvoir Road consists of 6 turn of the century Victorian warehouses, which had been refurbished and extended for use as offices and co-working space in 2016. The client approached us as the building was suffering defects relating to the innovative approach using EDPM rubber as a wall and roof cladding.

Due to ongoing litigation, the client was unable to work with the original architects and invited us to design a new external envelope. Given the conservation area context, and the positive reception of the previous design in terms of aesthetics, our goal was to find alternative materials and detailing that would sensitively relate to the the appearance of the original, while avoiding the various issues that arose with regards to moisture ingress.
