# InTheMaking

Design workshops for children and students of all ages.

In The Making

Alongside practicing architecture, we run a number of participatory workshops to give children and adults of all ages the chance to tackle fun design challenges, and build important life skills through hands-on experiences.

Our workshops have been delivered in partnership with leading schools, Universities and museums to provide younger audiences insight into the commercial world of Architecture, Design and Engineering in a fun and engaging format.

Each workshop is based around a simple, time-based challenge designed to ignite the fearless ambition and uninhibited, playful exploration that comes so naturally in youth, while unlocking the positive learning outcomes collaborative problem solving can teach.

What our participants said…

“ Hugely accommodating and generous in spirit Kennedy Woods provided our Interior students at the CASS School of Architecture + Design a wonderful introduction to the vibrant and colourful Bussey building where their office is based and where our academic design project for the year is sited. The students will be looking at ways in which they can engage the local community to the Bussey and further cement its presence in Peckham. Tom and his team offered a valuable insight to their design practices, professional approach and range of design projects. It was wonderful to see the scope of projects and hear about the team’s focus on community concerns. We are very much looking forward to working further with Kennedy Woods and strengthening the link between education and professional practice, which is invaluable to our future generation of architects and interior designers.”

"I can’t recommend the Kennedy Woods workshops highly enough.

Tom and Chris spent a day in school working with a group of our young Design and Technology students. Their planning and attention to detail were exemplary and they engaged fully and tirelessly with their very excited charges.

The kids just loved it all and produced some very impressive structures. They have all been pestering me for a repeat soon!"

Mark Johnson. Headmaster. Cheam School, Newbury.

"...this excellent team building exercise is suitable for any age group and gives you deep insights into personality types and preferred work styles ranging from the meticulous planner to the spontaneous doer or the competitive leader!

I highly recommend this experience to anyone wishing for their team to interact, engage and construct!"

Emma Marks. Events Team. Tate Modern, London.

"The RIBA London hosted Kennedy Woods Architects for an interactive social event at the V&A Museum.

Chris and Tom’s infectious and charismatic personalities created a lively atmosphere as they ensured that all participants were fully engaged and on track to completing the team tasks!"
